What is Island Growers No Sugar Added Ice Cream?
Island Growers is a premium, all-natural ice cream handcrafted in Trinidad and Tobago with real dairy and real ingredients — and no added sugar. Every flavour is sweetened with allulose, a naturally occurring rare sugar, instead of cane sugar or artificial sweeteners. The result is a rich, 14%-milk-fat ice cream that scoops and tastes like traditional ice cream, made without artificial preservatives, colours, or flavours — built for customers who want a genuine indulgence without the sugar, including keto, diabetic-friendly, and low-carb shoppers.
What is Allulose?
Allulose is a rare sugar found naturally in small amounts in foods like figs and raisins. It looks and tastes almost like regular sugar, but the body absorbs it without metabolising it for energy — so it carries a fraction of the calories of table sugar and has little to no effect on blood glucose or insulin levels. It's also one of the few sugar substitutes that behaves like real sugar in frozen desserts: it keeps ice cream soft and scoopable instead of freezing into a hard block, which is why it's central to how Island Growers ice cream is made.
As with any dietary choice, customers managing diabetes or another health condition should check with their healthcare provider.
What Do You Mean by "Clean Label"?
Clean label means an ingredient list customers can read and recognise. Island Growers ice cream is built from real milk and cream, allulose as the only sweetener, and a short list of natural stabilisers — guar gum and xanthan gum — plus sunflower lecithin as a natural emulsifier. There are no artificial preservatives, artificial colours, or artificial flavours in any Island Growers product.
Does It Contain Alcohol, Eggs, or Soy?
No. Every Island Growers flavour is alcohol-free, egg-free, and soy-free — the emulsifier used is sunflower-derived, not soy-derived.
Is It Vegan or Vegetarian?
Island Growers ice cream is vegetarian: it contains no eggs, gelatin, or other animal-derived ingredients beyond dairy, and every stabiliser and emulsifier used is plant-based. It is not vegan, since the base is built on real milk and cream.
Where Is It Made?
Island Growers ice cream is handmade in small batches in Trinidad and Tobago. Locally made.
